This week has been so stressful. Work has been crazy. It’s just not fair that we had our school Valentine’s Day party yesterday and then had to go back to work today. The kids are hyper and excited and the teachers are exhausted. Can we get a snow day, please? Just one? I’m pretty sure that if we got the lightest dusting of snow they would cancel school. But the temperature is rising and we won’t be getting a snow day anytime soon.
In a nutshell, I’m stressed. So today, I am sharing 5 ways to help you de-stress your life. These stress beaters may not give you the satisfaction of a snow day, or better yet a beach vacation, but they will keep you sane until Friday.
The best way to de-stress is to take a break and focus on something other than what you are stressed about. Today at work, I had about 3 free minutes and I sat down and had a doughnut from our breakroom. I could have gotten things ready for the afternoon, but instead, I just took a break. No matter how much work it may seem like you have to do, take a break. You deserve it.
Cut the Clutter
One of the most stressful things about today was knowing that I had to go to the grocery store after work, then home to make dinner, then finish up this blog post, and fold the laundry. But one thing that I did last night helped make today a little less stressful and that is cutting the clutter. Last night before bed I picked up our bedroom and living room and today I came home from work to a (mostly) clean house. A clutter free home is an instant de-stresser!
Organize and Plan Ahead
I keep a planner handy at all times and write everything that I need to accomplish in it. Knowing what I need to get down and when I’m going to do it keeps me organized and stress-free.
Exercise and Eat Right Regularly
I’m not the best at eating right and hardly ever exercise but it’s still something that you should do. Whenever you have a healthy body you will feel better which will help you feel more at peace. I think I’ll take my own advice and give this one a try this week. I just bought sweet peppers, bananas, apples, and broccoli for work lunches this week-Yum!
Spend Time with God
It is such a blessing knowing that God has a plan for my life that is bigger than I can imagine. It’s a blessing to know that whenever I pray for peace, God sends it to me. So time with God has to be my number 1 priority no matter how busy or tired I may be. Whenever everything seems to be falling apart, God is the glue that keeps me together.
How do you de-stress your life? Maybe your strategy will help me make it to Saturday! Have a great week and try not to stress too much!
