It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another Celebrating Love post! YAY! Today, I have Kelly Basham from Blossom In Faith sharing a surprising and fun date night idea. It includes a printable so much sure you print it now!
Have you noticed that when things get hectic our relationship with our spouse is the first thing to get put on hold?
Our everyday schedules are already filled to the brim with things that are begging for our attention. Add in all of the business of the holiday season—the church programs, shopping, parties, family gatherings—and it can be near impossible to find a minute alone with your spouse.
When the pressures of your schedules start to squeeze out your time together, I want to encourage you to schedule in a date night. Scheduling it in may not seem very romantic, but sometimes it’s necessary to block out a special time together to insure you are connecting as a couple.
To make things feel little less scheduled, I like to use the element of surprise.
Surprising your spouse with a Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt Date Night Gift Basket is a fun and festive way to spend time together. Plus it also makes a great inexpensive last minute gift to stick under the tree for Christmas morning!
Here’s what you’ll do:
First, pick and schedule a time to spend a couple of hours together one evening. But don’t tell him what you are doing or where you are going. Just let him know that you have a surprise for him.
Gather the supplies:
Most of the supplies you’ll need can probably be found around the house. Grab 2 travel coffee mugs, a couple of pens, 2 packages of hot cocoa or tea, instant coffee etc., a decorative towel or scarf, ribbon, paper, a basket or container large enough to hold all the items, and a copy of the Christmas Light Date Night Scavenger Hunt. (If you don’t have a flashlight on your phone, you may want to include one in the basket.)
Put together the basket:
Print out the Ultimate Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt printable and tie the ribbon or string around it in a bow to fasten. Place the towel or scarf in the bottom of the basket and neatly arrange the other items on top. To finish your basket, use the sheet of paper to write your spouse a special little note letting him know you’re taking him out for a Christmas light scavenger hunt. Fold or cut the note down to size and place inside the basket if needed.

After you’ve surprised your spouse with the gift basket, prepare your hot beverages, and hop in the car. If it’s safe enough, you could even take a stroll around the neighborhood. Happy hunting and enjoy the night together!
