Next Sunday, thousands of children will grab colorful baskets and skip outside in search of brightly dyed Easter eggs. But who says that Easter Egg hunts are just for kids? Today, I am encouraging you and your spouse to have your own late night Easter Egg Hunt Date Night!
I know that Easter can be a busy time of year (especially if you have kids) so let’s keep it simple. First, gather these supplies: 20 plastic Easter eggs, small fake candles or glow sticks, and these printable ‘I Love You’ prompt cards.
Print two copies of the ‘I Love You’ prompt cards. Fill one out about your spouse and have him fill out the other one about you. Cut the cards apart and put one card in each egg along with a fake candle or glow stick. Hide your eggs in one room of your house while he hides his in another. Turn off the lights, grab a basket and let the fun begin! Then take turns hunting your eggs in the dark. Once you both have found all of your eggs sit down and open them and read the I Love You’s inside of them. Spend some time connecting and reminiscing about Easter egg hunts when you were a child.
Now, you don’t have to stick to the script completely. If the weather’s nice then go play outside! Or add your spouse’s favorite candy to the eggs just for fun. The possibilities are endless! The most important thing is that you are spending quality time with your spouse.
Happy dating, my friend!
