Anyone else wake up to a winter wonderland today? It’s looking pretty outside and the swirling wind leaves a majestic feel. There is no work for me today and you know what that means…snow day! I had another post all ready to go for today but now I think I’ll share a few things I love about snow days. Also, Brian and I found the best snow cream recipe and I just have to share it with you!
I’ll be spending a good portion of my ‘snow day’ working on my blog. Writing and photography are fun to me so I don’t mind too much. I want to be productive even though I’m not at my day job.
Felise is convinced that we should spend our day sleeping, far, far away from the snow. But I think today will be more of a catch up day. I should probably clean the house and start the daunting task of filing taxes. Being a grown up is no fun sometimes.
It’s so pretty outside today! I’ll definitely be taking pictures and playing in the snow today.
I love snow days.
And Snow Cream.
Snow Cream is just down right delicious. Before the first flakes hit the ground, Brian was asking me if we had everything to make it. The recipe is actually quite simple: Get a bowl of snow (make sure it looks powdery and clean!) mix it with milk, Splenda (sugar if you prefer), and a tiny bit of vanilla. There is no need to measure the ingredients-it’s just snow. Mix it up and eat it.
We mixed up the recipe a little this year by using Torani Sugar-Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Syrup and just a little milk and it was delicious. We’ve had it no less than 5 times since it snowed on Tuesday. It’s that good. I imagine it would be good with just a little coffee creamer mixed into it as well. Has anyone ever tried that?
This version of snow cream is perfect because it is sugar free and therefore something that Brian can eat a lot of it without messing up his diabetes.
Do you eat snow cream? What other recipes have you tried?
