A few weeks ago, I told you all about Walmart Family Mobile and my new cell phone. The Walmart Family Mobile Plus Plan includes Unlimited* Talk, Text, & Data which *includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE then 2G and a free movie credit on VUDU every month ($7 value) for $49.88 per month, per line. This plan is perfect for me as it helps us stay in touch with my family and run my freelance writing business. Using your income tax return on the Walmart Family Mobile Plus Plan is a great way to build your business and have tons of fun!
Since Walmart Family Mobile bills you later, you only have to pay $19.88 when you sign up. That $19.88 price is for the SIM kit for your phone. You can purchase a Walmart Family Mobile phone, or bring your own. I purchased a Samsung Galaxy On5 which is priced at $119.00. This phone has been great. I love the camera and how organized the calendar has kept me. This is an amazing deal on it’s on, but one thing that I am really loving at the Walmart Family Mobile Plus Plan is the free monthly VUDU movie rental ($7 value). My husband and I love movie night so this is perfect for us! All we have to do is sign into VUDU and stream our movie on our tv. It’s very convenient.
Now, if you have been here for a while then you know that I love taking ordinary date nights and making them interesting, today’s movie night is no different. The money saved with the Walmart Family Mobile Plus Plan means plenty of money to spend on entertainment. Without the extra savings, we wouldn’t have been able to purchase the cute bowls, fancy little spoons, and so many different toppings.
We actually had company this weekend so we decided to share our movie night with them and make it a little more interesting by creating a popcorn bar to go with our movie night.
Popcorn is delicious by itself, but whenever you mix in a few sweet treats it’s wonderful. If you are a sweet and salty fan then you are going to love this.
First, I headed to the local party supply store and picked up these cute little striped bowls and spoons. They are actually ice creams bowls, but they are perfect for popcorn toppings as well. While I was there I also grabbed my punch bowl, napkins, and cups.
Second, I headed to Walmart to pick up my candy, popcorn and punch supplies.
Here are the toppings that I used for my popcorn bar: Gummy Bears, Honey Roasted Peanuts, Peanut Butter Cups, Gummy Worms, Caramel Chips, Chocolate Chips, Candy Coated Chocolates, and Pretzels. The combinations are endless!
Third, I set up my popcorn bar and made my punch. I gave the entire popcorn bar a Hawaiian theme so I went with Mango Punch. To make Mango Punch, mix equal parts Mango-Peach Juice and Lemon Lime Cola. Scoop in several spoonfuls of Mango Sherbet. Pineapple Punch would be really good with this as well, but since I’m allergic to Pineapple, I decided to go with Mango.
Fourth, we filled up our bowls and watched our movie!
A popcorn bar opens up the door to other fun activities as well. For example, you could have a little contest to see who can come up with the most interesting popcorn combination.
I really loved this one with gummy worms and gummy bears! The kids loved this too.
This pretzel, candy, honey-roasted peanut combination was amazing as well.
I’m a huge chocolate fan so this peanut butter cup, chocolate chip, and caramel chip combo was my very favorite. I could eat this all night!
Or you could have a popcorn eating contest! Either way, this is a great way to turn movie night up a notch and really make it something special. No matter what movie you choose, you are going to have so much fun with this idea!
What’s your favorite movie? What’s your favorite way to spice up movie night?
