Whenever I first started looking for maternity clothes, I figured that I would stop by a few of my favorite shops and check out their maternity selection and then I would be good to go. It wasn’t that easy.
I quickly discovered that most stores don’t sell maternity clothes and those that do are very expensive. Soon, I was left with two options; Drive all the way to Evansville to give Motherhood Maternity a try or shop online. Neither option was me, so I started looking around and weighing my options.
I’ve always been a bit stingy with money so I started stopping our local Goodwill store and checking for maternity clothes. I also tried Once Upon a Child and kept my eye on online sales.
It took a little time, but over the past month I have been able to fill my closet with clothes that I love and actually fit! Dresses have become my go-to since it’s been crazy hot. I’ve also found a few pairs of leggings that will be perfect for school.
Here are a few of my favorites. Let me know what you think!
I love this dress because it is so comfortable. It’s not actually a maternity dress but it fits just right and has a little room to grow. I got it at Goodwill for $3.
This dress is cotton and super soft. It’s got a cutout design at the top with a black layer under it so you actually aren’t showing too much skin. I can see myself wearing this to work again and again. I also found this dress at Goodwill for $3.
I absolutely love this pink top and it’s one of the few things that I bought brand new. The lacy sleeves are so delicate and fit my style perfectly. I found the top at Motherhood Maternity on clearance for $12. The black leggings are also Motherhood Maternity but they are hand-me-downs from my sister.
I just recently found these grey and white striped Motherhood Maternity leggings on Ebay for $12. Since I bought them online and couldn’t try them on first they are a little bit too long for me and very thick, which makes them almost too hot to wear right now. I think I’ll be able to use them for school eventually. I’ve had the white top for a while now, but I purchased it at the Dillard’s Outlet Store for probably around $10.
This dress is black and totally plain which is great because I have already been wearing it around the house for a few weeks, but I can also dress it up for work. It’s comfy and thin so it’s perfect for summer. I found it at Goodwill for $3.
At this point in the photo shoot I had to take a break to give Rocky a little love. He wanted to be in the pictures as well!
I also bought these leggings on Ebay. They are my favorite Motherhood Maternity brand and they cost $5.50. I bought the green vest thing at the Dillard’s Outlet Store, but I can’t remember how much I paid for it. Probably about $10. I love it because I can wear it for my whole pregnancy, as long as I pair it with a undershirt that fits my bump.
This Old Navy Maternity dress was an absolute steal for $1.50 at Goodwill. This will be a staple in my closet for the school year. It’s perfect don’t you think?
I love, love, love this flowery top from Motherhood Maternity that I purchased at Robin’s Retail Boutique for $6. It’s really comfortable and shows off my baby bump. I bought the shorts from the Walmart plus size section for $8.
So there is the proof that you don’t have to spend a ton of money to have cute maternity clothes. Where did you buy your maternity clothes at? I’d love to know so I can shop those places as well!
P.S. These photos were taken in the baby’s room so you are getting a little sneak peek of his nursery!
