Welcome to my very first blog post on Grace, Love, Life ever! This is an exciting day for me and I’m glad that you are here. I’ve been a writer for my whole life, but setting up and running a blog is completely different. I have a new husband, a full time career, and several part time writing positions so you may think I’m crazy for taking on this new challenge…and maybe you are right. But I have a dream and I believe that it is worth chasing.
Shouldn’t we all follow our dreams?
Close your eyes for a moment and imagine what you want in life. Can you see it? What do you need to do to make that happen? Your dreams are the deepest desire of your soul. Maybe your dream is attainable and maybe it’s not but you will definitely not get there if you do not try. Think about what you want in life and go after it. You are a beautiful, confident woman and you are worth the extra effort! My dream is to inspire others through the written word and that’s why we are here.
Can’t God use me as I am?
One of my biggest fears while starting this blog is if I actually have anything worth saying. I believe that the answer to that is no. I may be able to tell you a funny story or share a yummy recipe but on my own I can’t tell you anything that is really all that important. But I have a Father in Heaven who does have something that He wants you to know. He is a God of love, forgiveness, righteousness, wonder. My words will fade away, but His will live on forever and ever. You see, I am the vessel but God is the King. I have a dream and I believe that God has a very, very important message so here we are.
My Mess, His Message
As we continue on this journey together I have to confess that I’m not going to get everything right. Life is messy and I’m no expert. Honestly, right now from my seat on the couch I can see at least 7 things that I need to put away. I have a tendency to be impatient and I don’t really like being told what to do. My life is a mess. Your life is messy too and that is ok. Life is just messy.
Have you ever heard the story of the Samaritan Woman? If not, grab your Bible and turn to John 4 and read it now…I’ll wait here. She was a sinner, and adulterer, and people looked down on her, yet Jesus just walks up to her and forgives her. She couldn’t save herself but Jesus could. The Bible doesn’t even tell us what her name is, yet God used her to get a message to millions of people. Think about that for a minute. Her life was messy but God used her to get a message to millions of people, including you.
Moments of Grace
So, let’s follow our dreams but more importantly let’s follow God. Every day as I go about my messy life I will look for moments of God’s grace and I would love to share these moments with you.
