As a child, I loved the story of Peter Pan. I loved the adventure of Neverland, and dreamed that faraway, magical places could actually exist. So whenever it came time to start decorating nursery, I knew that he needed a dreamy Peter Pan nursery.
Early in my search it became clear that I couldn’t just walk into Walmart and pick up Peter Pan decor, so I got creative. I found a few star, moon, and cloud things that I loved at Hobby Lobby and decided to use the to decorate our nursery. I looked on Etsy and Amazon and picked out a few special Peter Pan items to bring it all together.
I love everything about our Peter Pan nursery! I hope our baby will too!
Let’s take a look at his crib. I picked this crib because I wanted something simple and sturdy. This crib will be used not only for our baby boy but any siblings he may eventually have so we made sure to get a good one. This crib will also convert into a toddler and twin bed, however we didn’t purchase the extra convertible pieces at this time. We did purchase the matching changing table! We fell in love with this dreamy gray and white star mobile. The quilt is a one of a kind handmade gift from Brian’s grandmother and the stuffed animal was a gift from my sister. We do have a mattress that will be coming soon!
His changing table matches his crib and while you won’t find any Peter Pan decor here, the star and moon theme continue. I ordered the wall sticker above his changing table from Amazon and it was a pain to hang, but totally worth it. The turtle toys were gifts that I thought Kai just had to have. I love the gray and white of our nursery, but a baby needs some variety in his toys! The baskets holding his diapers and grooming kit were baby shower gifts and TJ Maxx finds.
This might be my favorite part of Kai’s nursery; the cozy reading corner! The glider is a must in any nursery and I decided that we needed a small bookshelf as well. A co-worker had the Peter Pan blanket made for me and I love it so much! That copy of Peter Pan is the one that I read over and over again as a child. The star garland hanging above the window came from Hobby Lobby and I love how ties everything together.
This dresser stands opposite the crib and was mine when I was a child. I would have liked a white dresser, but couldn’t justify getting rid of a perfectly good solid cherry dresser! Both of the wall hanging on this wall were purchased on clearance at Hobby Lobby. Baby Kai’s feet and hand prints will complete the ‘I Love Mommy’ sign! The starry lamp will be perfect for late night feedings and the teal and silver hamper matches a few of the baskets that sit on his changing table.
I love the entire nursery, but these Peter Pan signs serve as a focal point and bring the whole them together. I purchased them from a shop called Stories and Sayings on Etsy. Shop owner Emily Mullikin went above and beyond to create these signs for our nursery. They were custom made for us and they couldn’t be more perfect!
I found this sign on Amazon and I had to get it! Whenever I see it I imagine Kai as a little boy pretending to fight pirates and save princesses.
36 Weeks down and 4 more to go! The next pregnancy update that you get will likely be when he is here. At this point, almost everything is ready for Baby Kai and all I have to do is wait for him to make his appearance. I can’t wait to have my baby boy in my arms!
